Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Casual Bookkeeper to join Covured Inc. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys flexibility, remote work, and contributing to a growing business. You will work under the direction of the lead bookkeeper to help manager client bookkeeping tasks, organize records and keep files up to date.

The position starts on a casual basis (5-10 hours per week), with the potential to grow into a permanent, full-time role with amazing benefits for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Entering receipts, invoices, and transactions into Sage 50
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Support preparation for year-end and tax filings
  • Match trail balance and GL accounts to GIFI codes
  • Prepare T2 prep package (reconciliations, TB, supporting docs)
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of client financial data
  • Communicate clearly with the lead bookkeeper regarding file progress and questions
  • Follow established workflows and procedures
  • Payroll (wagepoint)

During down time:

  • Develop simple guides or short training sessions for clients on how to properly organize and submit receipts and financial documents
  • Create client training material
  • Host or prep mini client training sessions (recorded or live)
  • Perform file & data maintenance

Skills

  • Proficiency in Sage, and AutoEntry is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in bookkeeping with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgement
  • Clear and professional communication skills to collaborate with team members and, when required, clients.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes, maintaining clean files, and supporting year-end T2 prep.

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
