We're looking for our next Accountant. Could It Be You?
The purpose of the Accountant role is to provide support to the Finance department – Regulatory Reporting and Brokerage Accounting team in managing and reconciling Questrade's regulatory reporting, financial accounts and month end close.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reconciling New Issue reporting and book related journal entries
  • Booking monthly intercompany entries
  • Preparing ADR Client Charges and reconciliations
  • Reviewing Money Market file and book interest earned on T Bills
  • Preparing other reconciliations to support month end close
  • Reviewing and distributing Finance department documents
  • Assisting with monthly closing reports and reconciliations
  • Compiling financial data and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Participating in various finance projects such as Blackline implementation
  • Preparing monthly and annual regulatory reporting with CIRO (MFR and Form 1)
  • Preparing quarterly regulatory reporting with OSC
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reporting with FINRA
  • Preparing annual derivatives filing with AMF
  • Preparing annual derivatives participation fees filing with OSC
  • Preparing annual Risk Questionnaire (finance sections) with CIRO
  • Preparing annual capital markets participation fee with OSC
  • Preparing year-end financial statement notes for IFRS and Form 1
  • Preparing daily working capital forecast
  • Assisting with year-end and regulatory audit support gathering

Accountant
? You are if you…

  • Hold a degree/diploma in Accounting or other related field
  • Have 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Have 2+ years of experience in a CIRO member firm
  • Possess advanced MS Excel skills
  • Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Are able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit sound judgement, adaptability, flexibility, and demonstrate strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Possess professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal skills
