As our practice continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Administrative Assistant to support our accounting and tax operations.

Position Overview

Sapere is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Administrative Assistant with prior experience in an accounting or tax environment. This role supports accountants and managers with tax preparation, client correspondence, and administrative coordination.

The ideal candidate has hands-on exposure to T1 personal tax returns, familiarity with corporate tax (T2) and GST/HST filings, and experience handling CRA correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the accounting and management team
  • Provide administrative and accounting support to the tax and accounting team
  • Assist with preparation of personal income tax returns (T1s)
  • Support preparation and organization of corporate tax (T2) files and working papers
  • Assist with GST/HST filings and related documentation
  • Manage and track CRA correspondence, notices, and client follow-ups
  • Communicate with clients regarding tax documents, information requests, and deadlines
  • Maintain organized digital client files and tax documentation
  • Support bookkeeping, data entry, and basic reconciliations as required
  • Monitor filing deadlines and assist with workflow coordination

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience working in an accounting or tax firm (required)
  • Hands-on experience with T1 personal tax preparation
  • Exposure to T2 corporate tax and GST/HST filings
  • Experience handling CRA correspondence and notices
  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in an accounting, finance, or professional services firm
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping or document management systems
