What's behind every great manufacturing operation? A schedule that keeps people, processes, and production in sync. Do you see scheduling as more than numbers … balancing customer priorities with production capacity while motivating a team? Do you thrive on solving challenges and driving efficiency in a fast-paced, unionized environment?
If you answered yes to these questions, then we should talk
Fleming, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Scheduling Manager to join our team. This position will be onsite based out of our Woodbridge, Ontario Canada manufacturing facility and will report directly to the General Manager.
We are growing and there has never been a more exciting time to join us
Come see who we are at:
What would you do as a Scheduling Manager?
You'll lead the production planning process, ensuring customer requirements are met while optimizing manufacturing and material flow. You'll manage a team of Planners, collaborate across departments, and implement tools and processes that drive accountability, efficiency, and performance.
You would also:
- Own and optimize the master production schedule, balancing sales forecasts, customer priorities, equipment capacity, and production cycle constraints
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Scheduling/Planning team, fostering accountability, growth, and succession planning
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Warehouse, Shipping, Quality, and Engineering to ensure on-time delivery and efficient use of resources
- Estimate and plan production times considering machine availability, backlog, tooling, product complexity, and outside operations
- Monitor work-in-process, stock levels, and forecasts, maintaining optimal materials and WIP inventory to meet delivery and budget goals
- Track and analyze KPIs (schedule adherence, on-time delivery, capacity utilization), implementing corrective actions and driving data-based decisions
- Lead the transition from manual scheduling to ERP/MRP systems, streamlining processes, leveraging technology, and scaling workflows for greater efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement and long-term planning initiatives, including capital projects, capacity optimization, and resource utilization
- Proactively resolve capacity, supply chain, and scheduling challenges while maintaining customer commitments
- Contribute to a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment in line with AADG policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Perform other duties and special projects as required
The Skills and Experience you need
:
- Post-secondary degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling and operations leadership, including people management
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of scheduling systems, ERP/MRP, inventory management, and capacity planning practices
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and reporting tools; familiarity with accounting or financial systems an asset
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Exceptional leadership presence with strong decision-making, project management, and change management skills
- Excellent analytical ability, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with customers
