About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) support our sales and market intelligence efforts in the bakery industry. In this role, you will engage directly with bakery and food production businesses to collect critical information related to key decision-makers, ingredient usage, and purchasing volumes.

This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, confident on the phone and has strong research skills. The role of Business Development Representative will report directly to the Business Development Manager and indirectly to the VP of Sales.

Sales experience is an asset but not required — we value enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

What you'll do:

  • Reach out to bakery businesses via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Identify and record key decision-makers and their roles within the business
  • Collect data on types of ingredients used (e.g., flour, sugar, custom mixes, yeast etc.) and the volumes purchased monthly or annually.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of calls and information gathered using CRM or reporting tools.
  • Provide insights to the sales and marketing team to support lead qualification and strategy development.
  • Meet or exceed weekly outreach and data collection targets.

Requirements:

  • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Comfortable making cold calls and initiating conversations with new contacts.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately collect and record data.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the bakery or foodservice industry is a bonus.
  • Experience with MS Office, HubSpot and VOIP systems a plus
