At BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), we work to create unforgettable moments, world-class experiences and stronger connections to community, industry and culture.PavCo is the owner and operator of two of Canada's premier venues for events, BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre.PavCo is hiring.Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Accountant II, AP is responsible for processing invoices, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate and timely payments. This intermediate-level position requires demonstrated Account Payable experience, exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage a high volume of transactions, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. What You Will Do:Process a high volume of invoices with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring timely entry into Momentus systemPrepare and process payments via EFT, cheque, and wire transfers according to established policies and proceduresMaintain comprehensive vendor master files and documentation to ensure data integrityBuild and maintain professional relationships with vendors, promptly resolving discrepancies and payment issuesReview and process employee expense reports and credit card reconciliations in accordance with company policiesSupport month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring proper recording of accounts payable transactionsPerform regular account reconciliations (monthly, quarterly, yearly) to maintain financial accuracyProvide documentation and support for internal and external audits, responding to inquiries as neededEnsure all financial transactions comply with company policies, procedures, and accounting standardsIdentify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless integration of financial processesLead or participate in special projects related to accounts payable or broader financial operationsProvide backup support for Accounts Receivable and other finance teams as requiredWhat You BringMinimum 2+ years of progressive experience in accounting with specific expertise in Accounts PayableAccounting Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)Previous experience with Momentus or comparable accounting software is an assetExceptional data entry skills with demonstrated ability to manage high transaction volumes with precisionSuperior organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize competing demandsExcellent communication skills with ability to interact professionally with all stakeholdersProven track record of successfully initiating and implementing business improvement projectsStrong ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneouslyAdvanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilitiesDemonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environmentProven resilience and performance excellence under pressureCommitment to service excellence and continuous improvementWhat We Offer:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive benefits package and robust government pension plan – starts on Day 1First month on-site work arrangements, then move to hybrid – 3 days in the officeCareer advancement opportunities and professional developmentThe salary range for this position is $ 60,000-65,000Offers will be in line with PavCo's internal pay equity and qualified candidate's experience and education.
