Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate finance and accounting software, contributing to the accurate management of financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and PeopleSoft
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Support bookkeeping activities, including data entry and maintaining organized financial records
  • Aid in account reconciliation processes to verify transaction accuracy across multiple accounts
  • Contribute to auditing preparations by providing necessary documentation and reports
  • Assist with payroll processing and related reporting tasks
  • Support budgeting activities by preparing financial reports and variance analysis
  • Help with general ledger maintenance and month-end closing procedures
  • Collaborate with team members on financial services projects to ensure compliance and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
  • Knowledge of corporate finance principles, bookkeeping, and auditing processes
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and budgeting procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Prior experience in financial services or related fields is preferred but not required
  • Relevant educational background in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is advantageous
