Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities (GPASC)

Permanent, Full-Time (30 hrs/week)

Do you believe learning is best when it's hands-on? At GPASC, we create interactive programs that teach children, youth, and families how to stay safe because safety should be practical and fun We're looking for a Program Coordinator who loves planning events, engaging with the community, and making a positive impact.

About Us

GPASC is a non-profit and registered charity operating Safety City and serving over 5,000 residents annually with injury prevention programs in Grande Prairie and area.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and deliver interactive safety programs and presentations
  • Coordinate schedules, volunteers, and seasonal staff
  • Engage the community through outreach and social media
  • Assist with fundraising events and grant writing
  • Handle basic administrative tasks and reporting

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma (post-secondary in education, child development, or public health preferred)
  • 1–5 years experience in a related field
  • Experience working with children/youth and event planning
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills
  • Creative, organized, and tech-savvy (Microsoft, Canva)
  • Valid Alberta driver's license and Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Clean RCMP Vulnerable Sector and child welfare checks required
