Job Title: Yard Coordinator - Source Trucking

Location: Grande Prairie, AB

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

The Yard Coordinator will play a key role in keeping the shop and yard organized for the Source Trucking division. The primary role of the Yard Coordinator is the movement of Heavy Trucks and Trailers for the purpose of maintenance and repairs, and other tasks as required.

What You'll Be Doing:

Yard maintenance

    • snow clearing, gravel maintenance, sand clean up, etc.
  • Operation of Loader and Skid Steer
  • Parking Trucks and Trailers
  • Move Trucks and Trailers in and out of the shop
  • Work in conjunction with Shop to move equipment as needed to and from Vendors
  • Perform Drive Evaluations on New Employees
  • Possible Drive Instruction for Green Drivers
  • Ride along with existing Drivers for continued evaluation schedule
  • Re-organize parking as needed to maximize utilization of yard space
  • Assisting drivers who are in need of assistance in the field
  • Parts Runs
  • Light Duty Driver Evaluation
  • Test Drives post mechanical repairs
  • Other duties as required.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Minimum two years' experience working in a similar role;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot a variety of equipment related issues;
  • An organized individual able to follow directions/procedures.
  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively manage workload;
  • Additional experience in oilfield, sand or industrial work is an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and successfully handle time pressures and stress;
  • Ability to hold valid tickets including: H2S, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, Wilderness Awareness
  • Valid Class 1 license (no restrictions) with a clean drivers abstract

  • A mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with different personalities
  • Troubleshooting ability with multiple disciplines

Nice to Have:

  • First Aid certification is not required but considered an asset
  • Previous exposure to Heavy Truck and Trailer equipment and maintenance.
