Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role requires strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and the ability to manage service operations efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealership auto service management, a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, listening carefully to their vehicle concerns.
- Write detailed service estimates and explain repair options clearly to customers.
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Upsell additional services or repairs based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs.
- Manage service writing, including documenting work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance processes such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, alignments, and transmission repairs.
- Assist with auto estimating and ensure all repairs meet quality standards.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation.
- Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to facilitate effective communication regarding vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service and follow-up.
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience or auto service management background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair.
- Experience in auto estimating, service writing, and automotive repair sales is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Familiarity with automotive service management software is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with sales skills such as upselling will be advantageous.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and professionally.
- Automotive technician or mechanic experience is beneficial but not required for all roles.
