Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial statements, creating journal entries, handling fixed assets, and utilizing analytical skills to support financial decision-making. Daily tasks will include preparing and reviewing financial reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing various accounting functions to support the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle accounting & financial reporting
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and reporting
  • Maintain the FAR
  • Own the payroll function
  • Prepare GST/HST tax returns
  • Seek out improvements and efficiencies
  • Maintain and improve internal controls
  • Assist with the annual audit
  • Liaise with General Managers as needed
  • Manage and mentor junior team members

Qualifications

Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Ability to prepare and file HST returns
  • Audit experience a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • CPA qualified or similar a must
