Catering Cook

La Casa Dolce is a small, fast-paced bakery with a focus on Mississauga, ON-style comfort food. We are looking for a Catering Cook to assist in the preparation of food in order to provide the highest quality and quantity for our guests.

We are looking for a Catering Cook to prepare all types of food in our kitchen, focusing primarily on catering, soups, pizzas, hot food, and salads. You will perform routine tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great catering cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

Skills

  • Proven experience as prep cook or other kitchen job
  • Experience in preparing food according to recipes
  • Experience in kitchen sanitation and safety
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Manual dexterity able to operate at all times on your own
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Good time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Training from a culinary school will be an asset
  • Pizza Dough making experience
  • Setting up fruit, veggie, and sandwiches on catering trays.

Requirement

  • Current Food Handler's Certificate
  • Catering experience

Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays with availability during the week as needed.

Will receive tips as part of company tipping program policy*

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
