Job Summary

The Roasted Nut is a cozy café and nuttery located in Toronto, now expanding to our new Bloor Street location We roast our nuts in-house and pair them with handcrafted coffees and specialty drinks to create a warm, inviting experience for every customer.

We're looking for a few experienced full-time (and also part-time) baristas to join our team and start training soon as we prepare to open in the first week of November. If you're passionate about coffee, love connecting with people, and enjoy working in a friendly, fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you In this role, you'll be the face of our establishment, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

As a certified Nutista, you will be crafting deliciously nutty coffee beverages, serving our delicious house-roasted nut combinations, and also beer, wine and other cocktails, providing outstanding customer service, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffees with latte (latte, cappuccino, flat white and more) and tea beverages
  • Greet customers and take their orders
  • Serve confections from the counter
  • Keep the pastry case full
  • Keep the retail shelves stocked and faced
  • Operate cash register and handle cash transactions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee shop
  • Assist with food preparation and handling
  • Support inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting shortages or equipment issues promptly.

Skills:

  • Milk texturing, and latte art is a MUST
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience in food service or customer service is preferred
