Our company is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative individual to fill the position of Payroll & Benefits Administrator.

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is responsible for assisting in multiple activities relating to company bi-weekly payroll functions, benefits and retirement savings plan administration.

**Summary**:

- Prepare and administer payroll for employees (non-union employee), while auditing payroll processing reports for accuracy in a timely manner.
- Reconcile and analyze the payroll registers.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues.
- Responsible for all year-end functions, including but not limited to T4s, T4As, T2200s, WSIB returns and EHT.
- Liaison with third parties and setting up and administer garnishments.
- Preparing monthly remittances and cheque requests for garnishments, WSIB, etc.
- Process all regular, premiums, vacation pay, allowances, increases, retroactive, commission, adjustments and other special payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Calculation and reconciliation of vacation, compensation and sick leave banks and payments.
- Open Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims and overview the group retirement plans.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll and benefits functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Input new hires, rehires and terminations and make any changes regarding employee records (change of address, income taxes, bank account, benefits administration, etc.).
- Generate and process records of employment, income tax forms and remittances.
- Generate and process month, quarter, year-end and ad hoc reports as required.
- Ensure system integrity and work with HR on various projects (such as HRIS workflow, title mapping, etc.).
- Take and handle all inquiries arising from questions about payroll, benefits and HRIS system.
- Prepare and distribute employee communications (employment confirmations, information and office duties as assigned).

**Requirements**:

- Require the Canadian Payroll Association (AKA NPA) certificate or equivalent experience which is more than 8 years in a manufacturing environment with complex calculation rules.
- Be able to work with Ceridian's Dayforce
- Must have some finance experience - bookkeeping, payroll entries
- Have comprehension of statutory deductions
- Have comprehension of earnings code set up
- Have comprehension of Group insurance
- **Have comprehension of RRSP’s and DPSP’s (mandatory)**:

- Advanced proficiency with MS Office software, particularly Excel.
- **Have Experience in a complex multi-company environment**. Must have experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment both in a unionized and non-unionized workplace.
- Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of integrity and accuracy.
