An established Mississauga Law Firm (located near Square One) is seeking a Law Clerk for a full time position in their Creditors’ Rights department. The Law Clerk will work closely with lawyers and legal assistants for the timely and efficient management of files and legal actions. Junior and Senior welcome to apply, as well as paralegals. Creditors’ rights and/or high volume civil litigation (including small claims court ) experience is required.

**Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to;**
- Drafting and sending correspondence
- Drafting Pleadings, Judgments, Motions, Garnishments, and other court documents.
- Communicating with courts and Sheriff’s offices, process servers and other law firms
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and respond to inquiries
- Reviewing and evaluating files to determine appropriate actions and monitoring critical deadlines
- Making recommendations for procedural optimization; documenting and updating processes, precedents, and checklists
- Ensuring that procedures are in compliance with applicable legislation, court procedures, and client requirements

**Required Qualifications;**
- Degree, Diploma, or Graduate Certificate from an accredited Legal Assistant / Law Clerk Program
- Experience in Creditors’ rights or high volume civil litigation
- Strong problem solving skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and negotiations skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment which requires both independent work and working within a team
- Work experience (preferably in a Creditors' Rights Law Firm, Real estate, or Financial Institution) is an asset.

**Experience**:

- civil litigation (superior or small claims court): 1 year (required)
- Creditors’ Rights /debt enforcement: 1 year (required)
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk or Paralegal: 1 year (required)
