**Specialist, Payroll & Benefits**
This individual will process and administer full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll and will also fulfill all payroll related reconciliations, remittances, and reports in accordance with government and corporate policies. The incumbent is also responsible for the administration of all employee benefits plans including group health, company pension, registered retirement savings and employee and family assistance program.
The incumbent will report to the Manager, Human Resources and will be based out of Subaru Canada’s head office in Mississauga, ON.
**---Primary Job Responsibilities**:
- **Payroll**:_
- Coordinate and/or input, process and check bi-weekly payroll in a timely, and accurate manner and in accordance with the Company and government policies using our Ceridian Dayforce Payroll & HRIS system.
- Update and maintain Payroll/HRIS system to reflect the current company and employee information.
- Support employee groups by working collaboratively with the members of the HR and Finance departments to support all aspects of employee pay such as onboarding, position changes, grid movement, statutory leaves, sick leaves and other employment events, to ensure that they are reflected and remunerated properly.
- Reconcile, prepare and submit all reports and/or remittances within the required deadlines according to standard procedures (on-line and/or paper submission) for all regulatory organizations i.e. EI, WSIB, WorkSafe BC, CSST, etc.
- Generate monthly scheduled and ad-hoc reports in the payroll system including but not limited to Payroll Register Report, RRSP, Pension remittance summary, etc.
- Assist with audits, system testing, documenting processes and completing forms
- Support quality improvement initiatives to streamline, automate and document processes
- Provide ongoing support to employees on all payroll related inquires or issues.
- Prepare and reconcile journal entries on a monthly basis.
- Develop and maintain any payroll related forms as required.
- Execute the year end payroll process and complete all payroll annual reconciliation returns with accuracy and within prescribed deadlines.
- Make payroll deductions to offset employee purchases (i.e. ordering car parts).
- **Benefits - Pension & RRSP, Group Coverage**:_
- Coordinate and process all employee Company Pension, RRSP and Group Benefits enrolments and terminations.
- Reconcile monthly Company Pension & RRSP spreadsheet and remit payments within prescribed timeframes.
- Assist with employee information sessions with service providers for Pension, RRSP, EFAP and Group Benefits.
- Download monthly Group Benefits invoices, reconcile to payroll, and submit for payment. Reconcile and review payments to ASO statement and resolve any outstanding items or discrepancies.
- Administer disability program (STD/LTD) and any WSIB, WorkSafe BC and CSST incidents and claims.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Return to Work process for all employees (STD, LTD, WSIB/WSB/CSST) absences.
- Administer all Pension obligations including Form 7, Annual Information Return (AIR) process and annual audit in accordance with FSCO rules and regulations.
- **Human Resources**:_
- Assist in, and learn, other areas of Human Resources to meet the Company needs as required.

**---Qualifications**:
- PCP (payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation (required)
- Demonstrated experience using Ceridian payroll software Dayforce HCM (required).
- University degree or College diploma in Business Administration.
- Certified Benefits Professional designation a strong asset.
- Experience in general accounting practices an asset.
