Scale House Operator
**Location**: 8470 Keele St (Keele and Langstaff)
**Shift**: 12 noon to 9:00 pm
We are Public Transit accessible CMI is located at Keele and Langstaff in Concord. A 20-minute bus ride from TTC Pioneer Village Subway Station in North York and a 10-15-minute bus ride from Rutherford GO Station in Vaughan. We will reimburse for York Region Transit if you need to pay a double fare.

Here’s what we do
CMI sources and processes recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals across North America and ensure they do not end up in a landfill or go to waste. Our recycling stream ensures that all the ferrous and non-ferrous metals that enter our yards will create something new again
Here’s where you come in
As CMI continues to grow we are looking for passionate people to join our Operations team. As a Scale Operator, you will be the first point of contact to our internal and external customers and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties associated with operation of the inbound and outbound truck scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate weigh scale, weighing in and out trucks
- Accurately record weights into the system verifying scale tickets, and ensuring material is graded and paid
- Calculate costs for drivers and customers based on vehicle weight, prepare and issue tickets and receipts
- Ensure accuracy of tickets
- Balance cash register for all daily monetary transactions
- Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other reports, as assigned
- Communicate with other employees to coordinate the movement of materials
- Assist customers with directions and questions
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain order and housekeeping of scales and scale house
**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary Diploma is an asset
- Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
- Minimum of one year previous administrative or customer service experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Intermediate skills with MS Word and Excel
- Strong accurate data entry skills
- Strong English communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
