Position Summary
The HR Generalist is a champion of Pacekids’ culture and a key member of the HR team, providing ongoing HR support and guidance to team members across programs and departments. The HR Generalist exemplifies Pacekids’ values of collaboration, learning, respect, integrity, and accountability, and shares the Pacekids’ vision and mission. Diplomacy, tact, and conflict resolution skills are necessary as the impact of decisions made by this position may affect the organization, including staff members.
**Responsibilities**:
**Include but are not limited to**:
- Provide HR Generalist/Administrative support in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), disability management, performance management, policy and procedure development, and implementation and interpretation
- Coordinate and participate in the enhancement of the OHS safety program including advising on OHS compliance, tracking incidents, co-chairing the OHS safety committee, developing and delivering OHS related training, and researching and recommending enhancements
- Manage WCB injury reporting processes including meeting reporting guidelines, drafting modified agreements, and communicating with key external stakeholders
- Provide advice to staff on day-to-day employee relations
- Assist with all staff correspondence related to HR
- Maintain employee records and track HR metrics such as resignations, hires, leaves, and internal job placements on a monthly basis
- Conduct exit interviews as required
- Support the maintenance of the HRIS system, including troubleshooting
- Contribute to and participate in strategic planning of HR initiatives and objectives

What You Bring
**Core competencies and qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education with 2-4 years of human resources experience, or equivalent; HR certificate is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, WCB, and OHS legislation
- Experience with HRIS systems; experience with Ceridian Dayforce an asset
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, maturity, and tact
- Sound judgement and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong focus on customer service, both internally and externally
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, with an emphasis on self-initiative
- Clearance from a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check, current within the last six months; can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame
- Clearance from a Child Intervention Record Check, current within the last year; can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame
