Operations Manager

**Summary of Position**

Grow your career with Remco A leader in the warehousing & distribution industry as a Operations Manager -Shipping/Receiving & Put Away, where you will manage the day-to-day receiving, put away & shipping operation of the warehouse; guide and support the team leaders, administrative staff and warehouse associates. Lead the team in meeting productivity goals and objectives including labor management. The Operations Manager will be the primary “go to” person for the Account Managers in all receiving, sort, put away and shipping aspects.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Oversee and ensure that all departments are functioning with maximum efficiency and seek to optimize the profitability of each shipment by ensuring timely and accurate processing of shipments.
- Oversee the supervision of all operations staff including but not limited to receivers, shippers, unloaders, sorters.
- Manages and motivates direct reports to accomplish all operational goals. Ensure that they have the support and tools to perform on a high level and deliver results.
- Be hands on and have high level of floor presence to drive employee engagement.
- Ensure established quality and accuracy targets are met in all departments including individual accountability. Maintain and promote standard operating procedures and processes and ensure all employees are compliant in their execution.
- Analyze and implement corrective measures to achieve the daily, weekly and monthly department KPIs.
- Work closely with Account Managers and Team Leads to ensure that all associates are properly trained in their respective are aware of all customer requirements being serviced. Coordinate, share and allocate resources to ensure all teams & shifts are able to deliver operational targets.
- Manage inbound and outbound appointment booking process. Develop and maintain strong relationships to customers and their transportation partners. Coordinate daily capacity demands with internal and external partners.
- Assign tasks and ensure that staff receive detailed information and training to successfully complete assigned tasks
- Full understanding of customer specific scope of work. Ensure all billable events are captured accurately.
- Attend daily labor planning meeting to ensure efficient and adequate labor distribution. Monitor planned labor to manage within the guidelines, flexing hours up or down according to volumes.
- Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, encourages change and individual development.
- Reports - Ensure all daily shipment activities are entered in inbound/outbound log for customer & Remco tracking. Job watch tracking to allocate all labor hours to the correct customer.
- Support Inventory Control routines and initiatives
- Ensure safety is always the top priority and established H&S protocols are followed.
- Other duties that may be assigned.

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- 7-10 years warehouse operations management experience. Preferred in 3PL environment
- Good knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to trouble shoot
- Leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to manage for results
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage employee conflict to a successful resolution.
- Ability to assess talent and build development plans
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members
- Ability to proactively plan and organize work to accomplish goals
- Good time management skills.
- Profound knowledge and experience using various computer systems including MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
