At Vision Nursing and Rest Home we care about the care of our residents and the satisfaction of our employees first. We are looking to add to our family by adding a few housekeepers. Reporting to the Rest Home Director of Care and essential to delivering the highest level of care for our residents, the housekeepers are responsible for the majority of the day-to-day cleaning of our home.

**Some of Your Daily Tasks**:
1. Maintain a clean, safe environment including:
Promoting Infection Prevention Practices including hand hygiene in all aspects of daily routine; dusting, vacuuming resident rooms and public areas of home, clean and sanitize resident’ bathrooms and all washrooms including fixtures, tiles, floor, vanity and mirror, thorough cleaning of rooms when vacated by resident and after infections outbreak, collect garbage from residents’ rooms and other areas of the home, dispose in accordance with procedures, clean and restock housekeeping supplies and cart.

2. Report malfunctions of equipment and repairs required to Maintenance Department in Maintenance care on-line portal.

3. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with residents, colleagues, visitors and employees

4. Knowledgeable of and practice Fire, Safety, Infection Control and Quality Assurance Programs

5. Will assist with resident meal service.

6. Will cover telephones to relieve attendant for lunch break

7. Must attend a minimum of 2 Dept staff meetings annually and complete all mandatory components of education as per home policy.

8. Complete housekeeping audits as assigned.

**Some Experience We Hope You Would Bring to Our Home**:
1. Grade 12 education minimum required.

2. Previous housekeeping experience in an institutional setting is desirable.

3. Skills in the operation of cleaning machinery.
