Vision Nursing and Rest Home is a Progressively thinking and family oriented company with the main focus being on the highest level of care for our residents and the happiness of our staff. We are currently looking to add new members to our family We are looking for dedicated and caring Personal Support Workers to join us.

Reporting directly to the unit RPNs and the Charge Nurse the PSWs are crucial in ensuring the highest level of care is given to our residents

Your day-to-day duties will look like:
1. Assist with Residents' ADL and continence care as outlined in the care plan
2. Provide appropriate emotional and social support for residents within the parameters set by the Resident Bill of Rights, and as outlined in the individual care plans
3. Responsible to interact with residents and their families, directing them to an appropriate resource when questions posed are related to resident health conditions or care needs.
4. Responsible for timely reporting of physical or emotional changes of resident’s to the Registered Staff. Examples are: pain, change in behaviour or mood, safety concern, worsening incontinence or decline in physical ability.
5. Responsible for using adaptive and nursing equipment within the guidelines of the home and according to manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Required to document incidental charting for direct care and any exceptional resident care concerns or behaviours encountered during the shift

Some Knowledge and Skills you we would love for you to bring to our home:
1. Proof successful completion of the Personal Support Worker program that meets the requirement in Ont. Reg 79/10 s.47(2).
2. Demonstrated interest in geriatric nursing and long term care.
3. Demonstrates knowledge and practices safe work habits while performing resident care.
4. Computer experience is preferred OR must be willing to learn.

Pay: From $24.08 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 32 per week
