As part of our growing community, we are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our Dietary Services team as Dietary Aides. This role is essential in supporting resident health, comfort, and quality of life through safe and enjoyable meal service.

New team members join in a casual position to start and may apply for any available line as vacancies arise, or may choose to remain casual. We offer scheduled shifts, predictable routines, timely breaks, access to a 24-hour fitness room, and benefits available to part-time employees.

Major Duties Include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and portioning of meals in accordance with dietary requirements, texture modifications, allergies, and individual resident needs.
  • Serving meals to residents using safe food-handling practices and ensuring a positive, respectful dining experience.
  • Setting up, cleaning, and sanitizing the kitchen, servery areas, equipment, carts, and dining spaces in compliance with home policies and Public Health standards.
  • Washing dishes, utensils, and small equipment following established procedures.
  • Following posted menus, therapeutic diet requirements, and production sheets with attention to detail.
  • Assisting with receiving, unpacking, and storing food deliveries according to FIFO and food-safety standards.
  • Reporting concerns related to resident intake, meal issues, equipment, or safety hazards promptly to the Charge RN or Supervisor.
  • Participating in teamwork and communication that supports positive resident outcomes and a respectful workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • Food Handler Certification (current or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, dietary departments, or long-term care is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to follow safe food-handling practices, infection prevention and control measures, and all relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication skills and a resident-first approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a respectful, compassionate approach to resident care.
