**Summary**:
St. Joseph Communications is Canada’s largest privately owned communications company with three integrated platforms in Content, Print and Media.
Reporting to the Director of Photography, the Photography Coordinator will support in the creation of high-quality editorial and branded-content photography content across the print and digital properties at SJC Media.
**In this role you will**:

- Collaborate with and support the editorial and design teams to generate high-quality photographic content for SJC’s editorial brands.
- Research and license archival and third-party images for publication.
- Contribute story creative story ideas and visual solutions to meet our content needs.
- Assist in the commissioning of original photography, including videography.
- Coordinate and manage the logístical challenges of our freelance photographers and videographers.
- Assist in the day-to-day administration tasks as required by the photography department.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and requests fielded by the photography department—including marketing, communications, accounting and any additional support as required.

**A bit about yourself**:

- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a photographer, photo editor or in a related creative field.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- A high degree of visual literacy, including but not limited to a thorough knowledge of photographers, visual arts, editorial magazines and media.
- Strong communications skills and a strong ability to express yourself using the vernacular familiar to photographers.
- A passion for and experience with image making and storytelling.
- You are collaborative and able to build a rapport with anyone.
- You are a critical thinker who can see the big picture but are adept at questioning details and assumptions, making recommendations and solving problems effectively.

- You can juggle competing deadlines and objectives while staying focused on critical tasks, prioritizing appropriately

**Working Environment**
- The job is primarily performed in a hybrid office setting with the occasional need to attend / work in other office locations.

- Salaried job based on 40 hours / week, Monday to Friday. Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization is required. This job has no requirement to be on-call.
- Sustained requirement for manual dexterity / coordination for computer use.
- Sustained requirement for light physical exertion typical of an office job, such as sitting, standing, walking and operating office equipment.
- Minimal requirement for heavy physical exertion, including sitting for prolonged periods with limited freedom to switch positions, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. (e.g. paper, files, office equipment machines).
- Regular requirement for low-intensity mental, visual or aural concentration for such activities as reading, inputting data, taking notes.
- Sustained requirement for high-intensity mental, visual or aural concentration such as analyzing large volumes of data, listening to calls / presentations or face-to-face interactions of a more complex nature.
