Medical Office Administrator

Yorkdale Medical is looking to hire a Part-Time Medical Office Administrator to join our thriving Family Practice
**Job Duties**
- Welcome patients into the clinic. Provide assistance as needed
- Liaise with patients, physicians, and various Health Care providers to schedule and confirm appointments
- Support the day-to-day activities of a medical clinic including verifying the validity of OHIP coverage or other medical insurance as appropriate
- Collect payment of uninsured services as required
- Learn and use the EMR for all patient activities, ensuring patient data is entered correctly at all times
- File faxes electronically
- Assist physicians and patients with requisitions and forms for insurance, medical forms, etc...
- As per business needs, help out team members and provide shift coverage as needed
- Maintain a professional approach when interacting with colleagues and health care professionals to establish good working relations
- Communicate with patients using empathy, understanding and respect
- Other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- EMR (Oscar) experience is desirable
- Completion of a medical office assistance program or equivalent education is desirable
- Experience in a medical office
- Computer proficiency
- Knowledge of medical terms is an asset
- Strong organization and ability to multitask
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Flexibility with regards to shift availability
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
