Sport Central:
Sport Central is a children’s charity whose main goal is to assist low-income families by providing sport equipment and bicycles for children to participate in the sport of their choice. The goal is accomplished by collecting gently used sports equipment, repairing, and refurbishing it and redistributing it to children/families. The benefit of active participation includes mental, physical, and social benefits. Ultimately the children/families feel hope through opportunity, inclusion, and joy.
Position Summary:
The Community Outreach Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations ensuring successful delivery (efficient and timely) of the Community Outreach Program (COP) through the distribution of sporting equipment including processing orders, filling orders, and growing the program. The COP serves schools, communities, organizations, etc.
The role offers a unique blend of front-end office administration (50%) and back-end working in the warehouse fulfilling orders (50%).
The role is vital in supporting our outreach efforts, making sure every piece of equipment reaches those who need it most.
Key Responsibilities:
Administration:
- Ensure community outreach information is recorded and updated in the Access Database.
- Prepare and provide reports as required.
- Supervise and support Outreach staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations (DOO) to meet the equipment needs of community events, workshops, and sports clinics.
- Assist with event preparation by organizing and delivering necessary materials and supplies.
- Community Outreach will be a significant area of growth as Sport Central evolves. Volume will increase. Assist and implement the growth strategy primarily via a proactive approach pursuing new partnerships, communities, etc.
Shipping and Distribution:
- Coordinate with shipping carries and delivery partners to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Ensure all packages meet shipping partners standards before pickup.
- Track and document all shipments, maintain detailed records of destinations, contents, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure orders are complied. Expectation: Orders to be filled and shipped within 5-7 business days.
Warehouse/Inventory Management:
- Inspect equipment for quality and safety before shipment.
- Manage inventory of donated and purchased sporting equipment.
- Ensure the storage area is organized and fully stocked with essential items.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the team when reordering is needed.
General Responsibilities:

- To understand, adhere to and actively implement all the polices and procedures of Sport Central and its services at all times
- As a service-based organization, a response time of within 24 hours is required on all internal and external communication
- Function as a team player and support all staff
- Support the organizations volunteers
- Be aware of and participate in Occupational Health and Safety. Health and Safety are everyone’s responsibilities in the workplace.
- Provide reporting as requested
- To undertake trainings as required
- Assist with other work, events, and projects as needed
- To undertake additional projects/tasks reasonably requested by the Director of Operations or the Chief Executive Officer or the team.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Knowledge and experience with Sporting equipment is a must.
- Knowledge and experience of shipping, logistics, inventory management, or a related field is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Proficient in using Microsoft 365 systems and basic office software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50lbs.
Other requirements:
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Evaluation:
- This position is evaluated by the Director of Operations and the Chief Executive Officer on an annual basis.
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
