Business Development Executive

You’re an entrepreneurial hunter who thrives on originating new business and scaling a portfolio. Canaan Group provides the platform—brand, pricing, carrier capacity, operations, billing, and CRM (salesforce) —so you can focus on winning and growing accounts.
What you’ll do
- Originate, close, and grow B2B accounts in air freight, cross-border, and domestic trucking.
- Own the full commercial lifecycle: prospecting, solution design, pricing requests, proposals, negotiation, and expansion.
- Leverage Canaan’s operations team to execute while you drive pipeline and relationships.
- Maintain accurate activity and forecast data in salesforce, report GP performance by account.
- Collaborate with product specialists for complex moves (expedite, project, cross-border compliance).
What you bring
- Proven hunter in freight forwarding/trucking (air preferred); existing book or warm network is a plus.
- Track record of closing net-new logos and expanding wallet share.
- Strong commercial acumen: GP focus, margin discipline, solution selling.
- Clear, confident communicator; comfortable running your own business rhythm.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across British Columbia for client meetings.
How you’re compensated
- Commission-based on realized gross profit from the business you originate and manage. Specifics are discussed during the interview and confirmed in the agreement.
