Do you have a passion for innovation and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? Take your next step and join Osler Works - Transactional (OWT), as a Legal Assistant, Corporate Services. This position is located in our Toronto office.
Reporting to the Manager, Legal Secretarial Support, the successful applicant will work closely with our law clerks and other legal professionals, assisting on files dealing with corporate and transactional aspects related to our clients’ commercial operations.
**Major Responsibilities**
- Responsible for client onboarding to the legal entity management platform, including scanning of relevant documentation from the company minute book, entering administrative data and uploading scanned documentation to the legal entity management software.
- Responsible for general legal entity management software maintenance for clients, including responding to general questions, exporting certain documents or virtual minute books and providing assistance with updates.
- Working closely with and providing support to the applicable law clerks on client and administrative matters.
- Providing backup coverage in the absence of other corporate services legal assistants.
- Undertaking projects and other responsibilities, as assigned.
**Knowledge and Skills**
- Knowledge of legal entity management software an asset.
- Understanding of business and legal terminology.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), focused listening, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Sound judgement and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail, organized and time management skills along with the ability to balance daily work.
- Ability to handle pressure and remain calm when dealing with deadlines and large volumes of work.
- Independent worker and team player.
- Positive attitude, patience, and resilience.
- Maintains high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
**Education and Experience**
- The position requires the completion of a Community College Business or Legal Assistant program.
- A minimum of three years’ experience working in a professional services or legal environment preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, with a requirement to work partially in the office and an opportunity to work remote.
