**POSITION DESCRIPTION: HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST**

Since its origin in 1981, JASCO has developed and implemented acoustic technologies for underwater acoustics, ranging from advanced _acoustic recording systems design_ to complex _acoustic modelling_ algorithms. We perform acoustic consulting, _field monitoring_ and _data analysis_ services. Our work encompasses all stages of environmental reviews and assessments of underwater noise. We work with regulatory, oil and gas, marine construction, energy, fisheries, transport, and defence sectors. JASCO has offices in Victoria, BC, Halifax, NS, the United States, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

JASCO is currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist full time on site at our Dartmouth, NS office.

**Job Overview**:
As a Human Resources Generalist you will be responsible to provide day to day administrative assistance in all areas of Human Resources and provide support to HR program development, implementation, and maintenance. The Human Resources Generalist will be required to support staff in all JASCO locations and will be required to become familiar with the labour laws of multiple countries.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining and updating policies and procedures and providing counselling on same
- Compensation and benefits administration
- Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting
- Performance management
- Participation in Health and Safety committee
- Organizational and space planning
- Employee relations
- Leading and managing offboarding procedures

**Qualifications**:

- Must have at least 7 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a services oriented company
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs.
- Experience with an HRIS/HCM would be considered an asset
- Excellent computer skills in a Windows environment
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent experience
- Ability to get a security clearance with the Government of Canada Security Division

**Language requirements**:

- Exceptional oral and written English skills
