**Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, and providing support to the Safety Manager, the Human Resource Generalist is accountable to support the development and administration of a range of human resources and safety programs and processes. This includes but is not limited to: providing day-to-day human resource advice and counsel to managers/supervisors to resolve HR issues; supporting key HR projects that positively contribute to HHB; effectively implementing HR and Safety policies, procedures and programs.**

**This position is responsible for the coordination and administration of a range of HR and Safety programs and processes including but not limited to**:

- ** Policy and procedure interpretation and implementation;**:

- ** Adherence to the terms and conditions of two collective agreements;**:

- ** Full-cycle recruitment and onboarding;**:

- ** Performance management and coaching;**:

- ** Employee and labour relations;**:

- ** Exit interviews and off-boarding;**:

- ** Assisting the HR Manager in implementing HR projects and initiatives;**:

- ** Performing other duties as assigned.**

**Qualifications**
- ** 5-10 years’ experience in Human Resources; ideally in Staffing/Recruitment and Labour Relations with some Occupational Health and Safety accountabilities**:

- ** Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as Payworks, Peoplesoft, etc**:

- ** Experienced in data compilation, tracking, collation, analysis and report development**:

- ** Experience in the development and implementation of administrative and operational policies/procedures, training content, planning documentation**:

- ** Post Secondary education or the equivalent**:

- ** Strong understanding of legislation related to Human Resources Management; with an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and legislation**:

- ** Project management skills**:

- ** Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications)**:

- ** Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, building and maintaining a network of working relationships with both internal and external clients and stakeholders**:

- ** Highly organized multi-tasker, self-motivated, detail focused, and able to work without direct supervision or extensive direction.**:

- ** Strong professional and ethical standards, integrity, objectivity and confidence**

**Working Conditions**

**This position requires the incumbent to work in both an office environment with mínimal physical effort demands; and at times in an operational environment. Due to the nature of this position, mental stress varies as this position is required to respond to urgent situations, troubleshoot issues, and deal with employee issues and matters that can be highly complex and time sensitive. Sensory attention is required for a large and significant amount of reading, processing detailed documents, tracking and developing database and statistical data, developing reports and observing and listening.**
