The **Business Development Manager (BDM), ON **will work collaboratively to grow and diversify **guard.me’s** overall book of business while enhancing the company’s reputation and consolidating its position as Canada’s leading provider of health and travel insurance and health and wellness services to Canada’s education community.

The Business Development Manager has a deep understanding of our partner’s goals objectives, and business model and ensures that **guard.me’s** services promote student wellness and success. The BDM oversees the execution of strategies designed to increase **guard.me’s** effectiveness on campus while providing accurate and timely issue resolution. They effectively communicate with partner administrators at many levels and across multiple offices, developing strong relationships at both the operational and strategic levels within the assigned portfolio.

Business Development Managers have a thorough understanding of **guard.me’s** services. Because BDM’s come to know their partner’s business so well, they are able to identify additional ways that **guard.me** can serve campus stakeholders. In partnership with the Sales team, they ensure the partner understands that further success can be achieved with the appropriate, additional **guard.me** services.

In doing so, the Business Development Manager will:

- Retain and augment **_existing business_** by maintaining excellent partner relations and by creating and exploiting opportunities to introduce and sell new/additional products and services
- Grow and diversify revenue streams through prospect identification, stewardship, and the acquisition of **_new_** accounts
- Identify, develop, and implement the strategies, tactics and timelines required to achieve consistent growth through new and expanded business
- Maintain accurate and authoritative product knowledge on the **guard.meCARE’s** suite of products and services, including **Wellness and Learning Initiatives**, **keep.meSAFE**, and the **travel assistance** services for outbound travel insurance policies
- Continuously monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and promote the continuous feedback of strategic information to Sales Leadership and the Executive Team
- Keep abreast of industry trends and strive to position **guard.me** as the undisputed thought leader in the international student insurance, travel insurance, and health and wellness space
- Identify sponsorship opportunities and speaking opportunities that will enhance **guard.me’s** reputation and position it as a trusted and credible member of Canada’s education communities
- Jointly monitor, develop, and support timely responses to opportunities posted on public sector bidding websites and/or other directed (sole-sourced) requests for proposals
- Monitor, manage, review, and update general service agreements and/or contracts as required
- Support the timely collection of receivable premiums, especially those that are difficult or overdue
- Provide timely and accurate sales reports, productivity reports, quarterly business plans and projection related reporting as required
- Attend and participate in regular meetings as required
- Ensure that all customer interactions are loaded into the CRM in a timely and accurate fashion
- Represent **guard.me** by attending and participating in networking and educational events, industry tradeshows, and conferences
- Maintain a thorough understanding of privacy regulations and protocols for partners/policyholders
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop/target marketing literature and marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote continuous improvement, process optimization, and organizational learning
- Obtain within 6 months of employment, (if not already possessed) and ensure A&S licensing is active and maintained, including all mandated professional development obligations
- Travel throughout Canada, and potential for occasional international travel
- Such other duties and responsibilities as **guard.me** shall reasonably require

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales/Business Development, a completed College or Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience
- Possessing active LLPQ license specific to Accident & Sickness is ideal
- Previous experience working in international education, with a professional network of contacts in the following educational sectors: K-12, post-secondary, and/or private language schools
- Advanced selling skills and a proven track record of successful business development that demonstrates a capacity for creativity, innovation, and a willingness to address customer needs
- Strong networking, communication, and presentation skills with an ability to communicate effectively with people from all levels of an organization
- Proven ability to adapt to new situations while projecting a comfortable and professional demeanor
