National Shunt Service Ltd. (NSSL) operates across North America, and we specialize in yard management (shunting). Over 20 years of experience providing innovative yard management services (operations and technology), NSSL executes a TOTAL YARD MANAGEMENT PROGRAM for any type of manufacturer or cross-dock operation in North America. We call it shunting but you may know it as spotting, jockeying, yarding, or switching.
NSSL is a family-owned and operated transportation company. We manage more than 150,000 shipment movements per month for some of the leading name brand manufacturers and major retailers in North America. Role Overview:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of their assigned site. Ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are performed safely by all employees working under your supervision. The Operations Supervisor will be the designated liaison between NSSL’s frontline team and upper management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for NSSL Yard Operations within various client sites within a designated region
- Conduct scheduled client meetings to review site activity, and metrics and discuss the area of concern and opportunities
- Accurately assess driver productivity and performance, provide appropriate training, coaching and development opportunities through hands-on involvement
- Create driver schedules, manage attendance, and ensure adequate coverage to meet customer demands
- Coordination of truck maintenance, scheduling of repairs, safety inspections and other items as directed
- Update upper management regarding site activity, and assist with process improvements and operational projects
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding initiatives
- Participate in incident investigation, complete reports, and follow
- up on any issues promptly
- Conduct scheduled audits (SEE ME Audit) to evaluate driver safety and performance
- Enforce NSSL’s operational policies and procedures
- Conduct Shunt/Shuttle test

**Requirements**:

- Industry-relevant experience,
- Valid AZ License, with a clean driver abstract required
- Shunting and Shuttling experience, is an asset
- 2 years’ experience in supervisor role or similar experience
- Experience with Yard Management Software is an asset
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
