**Payroll Administrator**
**OBJECTIVE**:
As a Payroll Administrator, in your world, nothing is too big or too small when it comes to creating success. This means you are ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. It is this mindset that will allow you to excel as the Payroll Administrator for our consumer goods client. You will administer all aspects of company payroll. This will include processing payroll, maintaining records related to payroll, compiling, and examining employee payroll reports, assisting employees with questions regarding payroll, and all other duties as assigned for Canadian retail stores.
The Payroll Administrator will be under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Preparing, processing and reconciling the weekly payroll cycle utilizing ADP Workforce Now.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Calculate and process monthly commissions.
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
- Record payroll information in the accounting system.
- Maintain vacation and absence records.
- Prepare ledger entries and forms, such as records of employment, income tax forms, and remittances.
- Implement compensation policies; continually evaluate and recommend program revisions based on changes in policy direction and trend analysis.
- Ensure that corporate compensation and benefits policies adhere to provincial and federal standards and guidelines.
- Provide payroll support to employees and supervisors where needed.
- Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Process criminal background checks.
- Issue ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- All other duties as assigned.
**PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in an acceptable discipline related to payroll and/or human resources; PCP designation; or equivalent related education or experience.
- 5+ years of experience with primary responsibility for time and attendance, commission, and payroll administration and processing for 300+ employees
- 3+ years of experience with ADP Workforce Now, or payroll processing systems
- Experience in managing the processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other forms of compensation.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management.
- General knowledge of audits, income tax forms, health benefits programs and sick pay.
- Knowledge of provincial laws as they relate to compensation and benefits.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong work ethic and Time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with benefit administration is a plus.
