We are currently looking for a kitchen supervisor to join our team of committed professionals.

This is a Part-time paid position

Under the leadership of the Executive Director, the Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for planning, preparing and serving nutritious lunches and snacks for the children we are providing our programs to, while meeting the regulations of the Canadian Food Guide and Child Hunger Brantford’s Best Practices.

**START DATE**: ASAP
**LOCATION**: Brantford, Ontario

**RATE OF PAY**: $17.50 per hour
**HOURS**: 15 to 20 hours per week

**Major Responsibilities**
- Menu planning, ensuring that they consist of nutritional and high-quality food items which are in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and public health recommendations
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Clean the work environment, kitchen, service area, and storage area as required
- Prepare simple healthy food according to the standards required, ensuring proper and safe food handling
- Post all changes to the menu on a daily basis
- Responsible for food substitutions for children with dietary restrictions, allergies and/or cultural needs
- Ensure that the health code standards are met/exceeded
- Must ensure timely shopping to ensure that all food/supplies are ready to use for all menu plans
- Building and maintaining relationships with volunteers, creating community awareness and coordinating and executing volunteer preparation evenings.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for picking up groceries and supplies).
- Punctual, dependable, and enjoys working with children’s nutritional needs in mind.

**Qualifications**
- Food Handler’s Certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in food preparation or related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards and code
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of all information and communications (oral and written) pertaining to the association, its officers, staff, students, volunteers, the children and their families
- Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR (Level C) would be an asset
