The Food Catering Supervisor is responsible for facilitating the functions & operational aspects of the food programs at BGC Brantford Banbury Child Care Center. This position plans, implements and evaluates snacks, meals, and educational opportunities within the scope of the criteria determined by community partners, Ministry programs, and secured grants that fund specific programs.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Kitchen Operations_
- Prepares all food for the Banbury childcare center, school aged programs (e.g., before and after school and full day programs).
- Ensures clean, safe, and healthy program space, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensures administrative and reporting requirements are completed thoroughly and within established deadlines.
- Accommodates food allergies and dietary requirements.
- Coordinates the ordering or purchasing of all food and ingredients required to prepare food for programs.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, dining, and facility areas; keeps these areas organized.
- Custodial Support_
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the child care facility including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Disinfects high-tough surfaces, washrooms, and common areas.
- Monitors and restocks cleaning supplies, reporting any needs for repairs or additional resources.
- Program Delivery_
- Develops food-specific programming (e.g., kitchen safety, nutrition, and learn to cook) for all inhouse and community programs.
- Builds positive connections between children and food choices by providing educational opportunities as based on program needs.
- Follows all organizational and regulatory safety procedures to prevent accidents and contamination.
- Communicates with supervisors and coworkers regarding meal plans, cleaning tasks, and supplies.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Education:_
- Minimum high school diploma
- Related Experience:_
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the food related industry
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with a variety of age categories (5-18 years)
- Additional Skills:_
- Current First Aid/CPR (*required)
- Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Clean Driver’s Abstract and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to organize and manage a commercial kitchen
- Experience in menu management
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent in following routines and responsibilities
- Ability to cook with mínimal resources for large numbers
- Experience in inventory control and management
- A sound knowledge of nutrition

**JOB CONDITIONS**
- Physical Demands:_
- Position works within a climate-controlled facility however the kitchen could become extremely warm based on the amount of cooking occurring and programming requirements can require the position to conduct some job responsibilities in outdoor environments/conditions.
- Lifting heavy items such as tables, chairs, boxes, etc. requires awareness of proper lifting techniques etc., to ensure personal safety.
- Position may have exposure to prolonged standing, repetitive movements, enclosed spaces, and mold or chemicals.
- Working Conditions:_
- Due to the large number of children & youth serviced the working environment can be extremely loud during peak hours of operation
- Some work in isolation may be required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
