**What will I be doing?**
- **This position is a temporary contract covering a maternity leave of absence and will be approximately 14 months.**_
Assistant Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:
- Works in collaboration with the HR Manager on various programs and initiatives and acts as a resource to other Team Members in the HR department. Oversees the department in the absence of the HR Manager.
- Develops, designs, manages, and delivers training and development programs including Hilton brand standard training
- Assists with employee relations and conducts investigations when required
- Assists with the development and deployment of engagement initiatives including participation on the Hilton Blue Energy and LightStay committees
- Assists with student and co-op administration
- Works with HR Manager and Marketing to develop and implement employer branding projects including managing social media
- Tracks and develops human resources metrics and reports, analyzes trends, identifies areas for improvement and introduces solutions
- Develops, implements and evaluates HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the organization’s strategic plan, vision, mission and values
- Collaborates on the development and review of policies, procedures and practices and ensures agreed upon recommendations are fulfilled
- Assists with Benefit Administration, Payroll, Health & Safety and Disability Management as needed
- Assists with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests regarding employee relations, recruitment, health & safety and benefits
- Other duties as required
**Assistant Human Resources Manager Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent education and experience
- 4+ years progressive experience working in a similar role
- CHRP designation an asset
- Proven leadership skills sufficient to manage programs and team members
- Creative and progressive thought leader, with an authentic interest in innovation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members and various outside partners
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy of work, independent follow-up on information, and the ability to prioritize multiple demands with regular interruptions.
- Must possess good judgement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
