**Salary**: $55,000 - $70,000 per year

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing an organisation's financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, reporting, compliance, and credit management. This role plays a key part in supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring financial stability. The Finance Manager also implements internal controls, evaluates financial risks, and manages the company’s credit and collections policies to maintain healthy cash flow.

**Report to**: Giant Canada General Manager/ Giant Group CFO

**Responsibilities**:

- Be familiar with accounting standards, principles and practices (GAAP & IFRS, etc), and accurately provide monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to headquarters and the Bank. Fulfil the requests from the Global Finance team.
- Develop and implement annual operating and capital budgets; responsible for monitoring expenditures, variance analysis and reporting, and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Receiving, verifying the invoices from Suppliers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Processing and making payments to suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Manage daily cash positions and forecasts to ensure liquidity levels meet operational requirements. Cooperate with banks to handle loan withdrawals, repayments, and renewals of loan agreements.
- Keeping employees' records accurate and up to date, including information related to salary and benefits. Ensuring all payroll activities comply with relevant federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations. Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timely payments to employees.
- Ensuring adherence to company credit policies and procedures and staying up to date with industry best practices and regulations. Monitoring credit risk, identifying potential issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate risk.
- Works with external auditors to ensure the company’s financial statements are audited and comply with relevant regulations. Work with insurance brokers to develop and maintain adequate insurance coverage for the company. Responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies that protect the company’s financial assets.
- Ability to collect, clean, transform, and analyse data using various tools and techniques. Providing financial advice to management on financial strategies and decision-making.
- Submit reports to the relevant government agencies on or before the specified deadlines. Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and reporting requirements. Such as GST, QST, CBSA K84, CSST, WSIB, WCB, EHT, PST, A4A, NR4 etc. In addition, co-work with the Global Finance team to prepare for compliance with transfer pricing and Pillar 2 requirements from OECD.
- Lead, mentor, or collaborate with the finance and accounting team
- Axapta contact window with GU IT, including employee account management
- Misc. assignments as requested by the General Manager

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum 6 years of experience in tax or accounting roles
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis
- Hands-on experience with payroll, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
- Previous exposure to risk management, audit coordination, and internal controls
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics AX) and associated business processes
- Understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal tax and payroll regulations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Leadership and team development experience; able to mentor and collaborate cross-functionally
- Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a must.
- Adaptable and proactive in fast-paced, changing environments
