What will you do in this job?:

- Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance plan to ensure smooth operation of both front and back of house areas.
- Manage the Maintenance Department to meet hotel and departmental objectives
- Handle financial tasks such as invoicing, monitoring accounts receivable, budget tracking, payroll, purchase orders, and recording all POMEC expenses in both hard and soft copy
- Organize and maintain general office files, including job and vendor records
- Conduct monthly expense verification and reconciliation
- Supervise the Hotel's Energy Management system and direct maintenance staff in mechanical and physical plant operation and upkeep
- Ensure timely response to maintenance requests from guests, employees, and management
- Oversee departmental health, safety, WHMIS training programs, and ensure compliance with WCB regulations. Also, serve as a key member of the Hotel's emergency response team
- Participate actively in various committees and contribute to overall hotel operations
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for services such as elevator maintenance, refrigeration, and waste disposal. Also, manage supplier sourcing and purchase order preparation
- Ensure the hotel's compliance with municipal, provincial, federal, and Parks regulations regarding operational functions, fire safety programs, etc.
- Lead and support a diverse maintenance team covering areas like general maintenance, HVAC, kitchen repairs, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and groundskeeping
- Represent the Maintenance department in meetings and act as a substitute for the assistant manager and director during their absences
- Be available to respond during emergency situations
- Implement and manage the hotel's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Organize monthly team meetings and quarterly team outings

What skills and experience do you need for this job?:

- Minimum of 2 years' supervisory/leadership/project management experience, preferably in the hospitality sector
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible, and to work well under pressure, strong level of initiative required
- Must be computer literate and familiarization with computerized maintenance systems is an asset
- Hours of work and days off will vary according to business demands
- Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external personnel
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting
