Evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performedCoordinating the Preventive Maintenance Program of guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems; working closely with the Rooms Division, Food & Beverage Departments and other departments.Read, develop, and improve SOP’sParticipate in continual personal developmentMonitoring the Hotel's Energy Management system supervising and directing maintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and physical plant.Respond to Guest issues in a professional mannerInvestigate accidents and prepare relevant reportsEvaluate each worker's performance to ensure quality operationsTrain staff to ensure individuals have all the requisite skillsEnsure H&S policy and procedures of pursuit are followed by staff and contractorsOversee maintenance operations, supervising the work of maintenance staff and contractorsRoutinely inspect interior and exterior spaces and equipmentMonitor a preventative maintenance program for the hotels and staff accommodationAssist People and Culture with inspections and follow up to maintenance challengesFollow up on items with team, using a tracking sheet to ensure completionMonitor and maintain building systemsBuilding maintenance impacting tenantsPerform routine equipment maintenance tasks, keep maintenance records and respond to emergenciesBe available on an ‘on-call’ basis during off hours for emergency situationsAssist and support the Director of Facilities in directing team workflow What skills and experience do you need for this job? Knowledge of boilers, HVAC and building controls (Class 5 or 4 Power Engineer Ticket is an asset)Minimum 2 years in supervisory/leadership in hospitality sectorAdministrative skills Must be computer literate and familiarization with computerized maintenance systems is an asset.Highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible, and to work well under pressure, strong level of initiative required.Full ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekendsTo honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check What will your work environment be like?
