**Pay Band**:$44,250 to $52,125

**Position Overview**
The Advocacy Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Sr. Manager, Advocacy to oversee and coordinate student advocacy programs and assist with other advocacy campaigns and initiatives.
The Advocacy Engagement Coordinator also provides supervision and direction to other staff in the coordination of CSI advocacy programs and initiatives for the students of Conestoga College. In carrying out supervisory responsibilities, the Advocacy Engagement Coordinator must cultivate and maintain a diverse and inclusive environment in which the variety of participants’ backgrounds, experiences, places of origin, racial/ethnic identities, sexual identities, gender, ages, and more are heard, respected, and valued by everyone.
In carrying out the duties of this position, a great deal of autonomy is exercised with final overview by the Sr. Manager, Advocacy. It is also important that the Advocacy Engagement Coordinator works extremely closely with the Sr. Manager, Advocacy to ensure that they are up to date on the basic overall operations of the Executive Team and the Board of Directors. In all activities, it is crucial that the Advocacy Engagement Coordinator recognizes that service to students is a top priority.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Supervision of Part-Time/Contract Staff
- Day-to-day supervision of part-time and contract staff and volunteers
- Work with staff members to ensure quality customer service is being provided to the students at Conestoga College
- Develop and support job-specific training for new and current part-time staff
- Create and monitor work schedules for part-time staff
- Edit and approve hours of work, submitting bi-weekly to the Human Resources department
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted to the Human Resources department
- Support regular staff meetings in conjunction with other department supervisors
- Cultivate and maintain an atmosphere and environment of cultural diversity, inclusivity, equity, and respect amongst the team
Program Support and Coordination
- Develop and coordinate student advocacy programs that support the department objectives
- Develop and manage program budgets
- Execute and manage the day-to-day functions of the student advocacy programs
- Work with the Advocacy Coordinator to conduct and compile research (qualitative and quantitative) on issues related to post-secondary education through the student advocacy programs
- Develop tools and methods for evaluating the success of these student advocacy programs; monitor impact and use data to make recommendations for strategic planning
- Provide frequent updates to the Sr. Manager, Advocacy on the progress and status of programs, projects, and campaigns
- Maintain awareness of and respond to current issues of post-secondary education
- Maintain awareness of strategic student priorities
- Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with community and grassroots organizations related to the post-secondary experience as required
- Assist with projects outlined within the Strategic Plan that are based on the BOD ends and Management interpretation
- In conjunction with the Advocacy Coordinator, plan and facilitate student feedback collected through various tools and methods
- Assist with the development of programs and platforms for the Conestoga student voice to be heard
- Participate and support various internal and external committees as required
- Ensure program feedback is collected and presented/reported on a regular basis
- Assist with the development of high-quality, creative, planned, and measurable campaigns on various issues
Other General Duties
- Work in accordance with corporate by-laws, policies, and procedures, particularly to the CSI Mission Statement
- Understand and abide by the CSI Board constitution, by-laws, policies, procedures and employee manual
