**Job Description**:
**AECOM** is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Community Engagement and Communication Specialist to join our team of community engagement, communication, graphic design, facilitation and web design specialists. This is a permanent full-time position. This position will report to the Manager, Community Engagement & Communication and can be based at any of our Canadian offices.
**Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:
- Working with multi-disciplinary teams and project managers to develop strategic community engagement, communication and outreach strategies for environmental assessments, community plans, and transit and infrastructure development projects
- Planning and coordinating public and stakeholder engagement activities and tactics, including in—person and virtual workshops, advisory committees, community meetings, and public open houses
- Creating communication materials including key messages, FAQs, presentations, notices, story boards, and discussion guides
- Developing virtual engagement strategies leveraging online platforms
- Supporting the development of digital media, including writing content for social media, video and websites
- Tracking community and stakeholder input, analyzing data and reporting
- Evaluating the effectiveness of engagement programs and services
- Assisting with the management of project budgets and schedules, internal and external document control, and project records
- Supporting the growth of the community engagement portfolio through the development of project proposals and other business development activities
**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelors degree program. Preferred fields are public relations, community engagement, communication, or environmental planning
- 4 years+ experience in strategic community engagement and communication
- Must possess a valid class G driver’s license and vehicle
- Bilingual ( French & English)
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- 4+ years professional writing experience including: plain language, AODA, web-content, internal and external communications
- Experience with government relations, media relations, public relations, stakeholder analysis and facilitation are an asset
- Experience with Indigenous community engagement and socio-economic studies is an asset
- Experience with Adobe Suite, WordPress, Survey Monkey, Engagement HQ, Social Pinpoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx is an asset
- IAP2, CPRS, IABC, IAF membership or certification is an asset
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills; this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders, client management and the public
- Strong knowledge of project coordination/ management concepts and processes
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and remotely if required
