**SUMMARY**
The work is performed under the general supervision of the Steps III Coordinator & Executive Director.
This is planning and implementation work and assists with developing, organizing, and overseeing programs and activities designed to enhance the social skills, interpersonal relationships, and emotional well-being of participants.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Contributes to a welcoming community/environment.
- Assists with the development of program content and organizes, conducts, or oversees a variety of activities, designed to enhance the mental and social well-being of participants/clients.
- Providing service needs determination and employment counselling to unemployed clients.
- Assists and supports Steps III program.
- Assist with administering and delivering the Steps III program and activities, ensuring program is delivered in an effective, efficient, and appropriate manner.
- Compile all necessary data and reports and submit them to the appropriate parties as required and enter into appropriate data base including CIMS.
- Assist with the Oversight of the activities, delegating tasks, and responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective operation.
- Assist with recruiting of program volunteers.
- Assist with providing training, orientation and guidance to staff acting as a resource for the department where requested by ED.
- Participates in group activities to facilitate the development of attitudes and social skills needed for improved interpersonal relationships.
- Conducts or arranges for workshops as requested by the Executive Director.
- Acts as liaison with community agencies and organizations as assigned or delegated by the Executive Director.
- Meets with Steps III participants regularly to complete and review educational employment goal plans.
- Maintains files for Steps III participants.
- Arranges & Monitors work experience for Steps III participants.
- Evaluates program activities and assists with setup, take down and clean-up for Steps III Groups and other groups as assigned.
- Organize guest speakers, facilitators and cultural supports for groups/meetings and activities as requested by Executive Director.
- Prepares Schedule of Events, Posters for events and activities.
- Available to work evenings and weekends when requested.
**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**:
- This position requires sound judgment, good communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- This person is a socially sensitive, who provides a safe, secure and respectful environment and embraces the vision to improve relationships for people while encouraging and reinforcing traditional practices and cultural beliefs.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
- Attend all mandatory training as required.
- A minimum of 1 year experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Self-starter; able to successfully work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions and stay organized.
- Maintain safe work practices and perform all duties as required to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stresses and crisis as required.
- Reliable, integral, and accountable.
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable person checks.
- Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Effective problem-solving skills and solution focused approach
- Highly organized in prioritizing work and consistently meets deadlines within a fast paced, high-volume work environment.
**MANDATORY**:
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and have a reliable vehicle that can be used for work.
- Must provide Criminal Record Check and Drivers Abstract upon selection,
- Valid First Aid, food safe
**Wages**: $26 to $28/hr depending on education and experience
**Benefits**: Available after 90 days of employment
**Vacation**: 3 weeks unpaid - 6 % HP on each Pay Period
**RRSP Matching**: After 90 days of employment
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
