INLET RECOVERY HOME
The Inlet Recovery Home is a Stabilization and Supported Recovery program that provides a structured, stable living environment for individuals in early recovery. The program provides short-term days) housing and recovery supports for up to eight individuals as they transition from intensive treatment and towards the next phase of recovery.

The program provides 24/7 staffing support to individuals, including case management and individualized recovery planning, peer support, life skills development, connection to employment and education opportunities, and support accessing long-term treatment programs or other mental health and addiction services. This program is a non-clinical recovery residence and is designed for individuals who have completed (or do not require) treatment services that involve medically supervised withdrawal support.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Program Manager will apply leadership and innovation as the life force that sustains and enhances our programs. This position will make a difference by meeting the needs of our clients, funders, and regulators. The Program Manager inspires excellence and purpose into the program by planning, organizing, staffing, and monitoring activities that ensure key targets are achieved

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS 

Reports and is accountable to the Senior Manager of Programs or their designate Participates as a member of Connective's management teamLiaises with government and community agencies, volunteers, and members of the general public 


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administration 

Implements and communicates all policies and procedures, including developing appropriate manuals, brochures and handbooks Hires, supervises, evaluates, transfers and terminates staff and/or contractors as necessary to fulfill the program goal in accord with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local and the Personnel Polices of Connective Arranges shift schedules, ensuring appropriate staff coverage Implements a system of staff and volunteer orientation, supervision, in service training and evaluation Ensures all appropriate internal daily, monthly, and annual documentation of resource staff and contractor's files and records are maintained Track, compile, and maintain accurate expense reports and financial information, providing regular updates to the Operations Manager 

Programs 

Make sure effective, inclusive support programs are designed and maintainedSupports the overall program strategic direction Implements structural program alterations informed by the Operations Manager and representative of program trends Facilitates person-centered planning opportunities for staff and service users Developed related program opportunities, available to the individuals in the community Ensure that funder guidelines, based on all agreed goals and including all steps or success measurement and timelines, are completed 

Community 

Maintains effective working relationships with related community services, government/stakeholders and agencies Is knowledgeable of related agencies for effective client referrals and support, especially those in their respective communities 

Facilities 

Ensures that the physical facilities fulfill all fire, health and safety regulations Ensures that the resource(s) is maintained as a clean, pleasant and safe environment 

On Call 

Is available to all resource staff in case of emergencies; this may include carrying a pager or cell phone 24 hours a day and ensuring call coverage is arranged in their absence 

Health and Safety 

Functions as an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) employer representative and may co-chair OSH committee Attends the health and safety training sessions for supervisors Participates as the organization's representative in health and safety investigations mandated by statutory authorities or as directed by the organization Supports Connective's OSH initiatives 

Other Duties 

Other duties may be assigned by the Senior Manager or designate based on operational and programmatic needs. 


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

A bachelor's degree and/or professional designation, with a minimum of 5 years of applicable or relevant transferable past work experience.  Extensive experience and expertise in Community Living, Mental health, and the Criminal justice System Extensive experience in management of the day-to-day aspects of community-based programs, including case planning, behaviour modification techniques, psychosocial rehabilitative techniques Sound knowledge of trauma-informed practice and awareness of issues facing diverse communities, including systemic barriers and issues stemming from colonizationKnowledge of community addiction services; experience liaising with criminal justice system, health sector, and/or social services personnel, and working with concurrent disorders and supportive recoveryExperience working with First Nations communitiesExcellent written and verbal communicationKnowledge and experience in hiring, training, and supervision of staffAbility to motivate and organize staff teamAdministrative experience and strong administrative skills, including competency in client documentation and utilization of case management systems.

Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Ability to successfully complete reference check Ability to provide a record of work historyTraining and/or certifications of 20 hours or more in the following areas: Trauma informed practice, crisis intervention and resolution, or psychosocial programming for substance use disordersCurrent Emergency First Aid Certificate (please refer to the Certificates accepted in B.C. - WorkSafeBC) Class 5 driver's license Personal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and which can be used to transport client 

COMPENSATION
Annual Salary will be based on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for the organization's comprehensive Management benefits package.
