**Why this role is important?**
**SUMMARY**:
The Medical Clinic Team Lead manages the day-to-day operations of the clinic, supports all healthcare providers through the provision of all duties related to the functional running of the medical clinic, manages the administrative staff and ensures excellent customer service is provided to all patients.
**What you’ll do**:
- Supervising staff, ensuring adequate coverage during all open hours of the clinic.
- Training staff including reception, assisting physicians in clinic
- Ensure all OHIP and non-OHIP billings are done in a timely fashion
- Reconciling RA from OHIP, ensuring all corrections are done and revenue is received
- Ensure new physicians are signed up to OHIP Billing Group while holding bills until this is achieved
- Scheduling all physicians and other healthcare providers in clinic, ensuring hours are open as documented, coverage of clinic times is achieved and physicians and other healthcare providers meet their commitments
- Report on staff sick time, vacation time, time off
- Dealing with transfer of medical records, liaising with lawyers
- Back-up for all staff if needed
- Reconciliation of Point-of-Sale and Petty Cash including preparation for bank deposits
- Thorough understanding of EMR, ensuring quality data input and checks of data quality is done routinely.
- Produce reports on patient numbers, physician billings, hours worked; initially manually and eventually through EMR
- Encourages atmosphere of knowledgeable, friendly and helpful concern for patients; interacts appropriately with co-workers and other employees to establish good working relations.
- Inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Liaise with pharmaceutical sales reps and book time with physicians as requested
- Arrange maintenance persons for electrical, phones, Internet, plumbing etc.
- Other duties as assigned
**What you’ll need**:
- Previous experience working in a medical clinic, ideally a family practice clinic (minimum 2 years)
- Previous experience with OHIP billing (ideally Accuro) and familiar with RA reconciliation.
- Outstanding customer service skills & ability to consistently produce positive interactions with patients, responding to questions and concerns from patients in a professional manner.
- Proficient in MS office with the ability to become proficient working with an Electronic Medical Record (preferably Accuro)
- Excellent phone and in-person demeanor and friendly, emphatic personality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good multi-tasker
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented with strong people skills
- Ability to supervise staff without bias
**Work Hours**:
- Flex schedule - day, weekends and evenings
