Position Overview
Students will use a person centered approach to assist individuals in determining stability support and employment readiness needs and goals.
**Responsibilities**:
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position includes gathering and completing necessary documentation, assessing eligibility for financial assistance and benefits, and entering pertinent information into the provincial database while following provincial and municipal policy and procedure. Students assist individuals to assess stability support and employment readiness needs as well making referrals to community agencies and resources in order to help individuals meet their goals.
**Qualifications**:
Post-secondary students in the Social Sciences field such as Psychology, Sociology or the Social Service Worker program will gain experience in people-centred service and assessment.
Training is provided on Ontario Works policy and procedure as well as on the Provincial social assistance technology.
