Accounting Manager

**What You'll Do;**

Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will be responsible for having oversight over accounts receivable, treasury, sales audit, prepaids and fixed assets This individual will support the month-end closing process and assist in preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial information to both internal and external parties. Review journal entries and reconciliations for areas responsible ensuring appropriate accounting treatment to avoid year-end audit exposure. Review and prepare schedules under direction from the Controller to meet all company reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely month end close.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries and reconciliations for areas responsible during month-end close process to ensure accuracy of month end results.
- Work closely with all departments to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Prepare and/or review audit schedules as required during annual audit, working with external auditors on requirements.
- Continuous process re-engineering of existing accounting processes and procedures to eliminate non-value added activities, reduce processing time and eliminate manual intervention.
- Establish and implement controls where required in areas of responsibility to ensure appropriate protection of company assets and accurate reporting of financials.
- Perform control review of customer changes.
- Act as a financial business partner to stakeholders, utilizing enhanced communication skills to build relationships and acquire necessary information and data to achieve functional goals.
- Complete quarterly reporting to parent company.
- Review the bank reporting requirements to ensure complete and timely reporting.
- Prepare and maintain the cash forecasting analysis to be reviewed by Controller and CFO
- Oversee the tracking and accounting of leases for IFRS 16 purposes.

**What You'll Bring;**
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or the equivalent, 3+ years general accounting and management experience.
- CPA designated.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
- Strong experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Excel user.
- Retail experience is an asset
- AS400 and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is an asset
- ERP implementation experience beneficial.
