Medical Office Assistant

Looking for vibrant, customer service and detail-oriented staff for our front desk and back-end nursing station area. From answering phone to filling patient rooms, staff will rotate between reception and the back end.
Only applicants with the required experience and knowledge base will be contacted.
**Duties**:
Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate department or personnel.
Scheduling patient appointments and managing the office calendar. Greeting and checking in patients, verifying their information, and collecting necessary paperwork.
Assisting with patient intake, including taking vital signs and updating medical history.
Managing medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Assisting healthcare providers with various administrative tasks, such as preparing patient charts and documenting medical notes.
Processing insurance claims and verifying patient insurance coverage.
Maintaining inventory of office supplies and ordering as needed.
Filing patient rooms
Labelling swabs
prepping rooms for procedures
**Requirements**:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred in Alberta
Knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle multiple phone lines.
Familiarity with Healthquest a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time
**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
