This position will provide assistance to the Land Information Technicians, Registrar/Assistant Registrar of Deeds, and Geomatics Technician as and where the need arises. This includes data entry into various systems, scanning documents for registration, and serving the public.
**Duties will include but are not limited to**:
- Information is received via pifs from documents registered in the Registry Office and interpreted by Land Information Technicians including, Ownership changes, Split and Sales, Changes in CHRIS, Death Certificates, Address changes, Name changes, Bait sheds, etc.
- Review and approve documents to ensure compliance for registration as prescribed by the Registry Act and the Condominium Act.
- Help users when locating property related documents.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Must have successfully completed a post-secondary program from a recognized business or office studies program or related field with course work in property law;
- Some experience with the Registry Act and Regulations, Real Property Transfer Tax Act and Regulations, and the Condominium Act and Regulations, and the ability to interpret these Acts;
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
- A knowledge of legal documents and the ability to interpret the documents and provide informed responses to enquiries;
- A knowledge of policies and procedures concerning the registration of legal documents;
- Must possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals;
- Must be able to effectively deal with the public in a professional manner, exercising tact and diplomacy in a regulatory environment;
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills as required;
- Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record. The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to beginning employment;
