Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager through the direct leadership and management of people and resources, will oversees certain, predetermined operational and administrative activities of operations and foster an environment that empowers and supports individuals to provide safe, and high quality services to tenants. This position is responsible for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of operations as well as managing and providing leadership for specific, assigned site-based functions. The Assistant General Manager is a key leader in the community and will support all elements of our strategy and will actively participate in providing optimal customer service and satisfaction.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO)**:
- Communication with all staff in regard to daily operational needs
- Monitor occupancy to ensure all available suites are turned over within the prescribed timelines
- Complete monthly audits as per corporate schedule
- Complete monthly rent rolls calculations in a timely manor
- Manage scheduled and unscheduled tours
- Complete lease and other related paperwork with new tenants
- Manage and follow up on tenant concerns and complaints
- Supervise staff to ensure high standards of service
- Ensuring all service staff are using appropriate dialogue to tenants
- Ensuring that tenants are being communicated to regarding policies for take away, wait times, in a consistent manor.
- Preparing and hosting motivational daily huddles
- Provide ongoing staff training
- Preparing and hosting staff development sessions a minimum of two times a year.
- Monitor and support staff adherence to OHS requirements
- Making sure all building equipment is in good working order
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness for all equipment
- Maintaining overall appearance of the building, painting, burnt out light bulbs, tables, chairs, common areas, and front reception.
- Ensuring that all daily and weekly cleaning duties are met
- Managing staff timecard entries
- Host monthly tenant meetings and follow up on concerns promptly
- Daily Log out to ensure communication between all management
- Updating pre shift notes between shifts
- Complete daily management walkabout to ensure compliance in all areas of operations
- Complete referrals to the Tenant Resource Coordinator teams as needed
- Other duties as assigned
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Completion of post-secondary education.
- Excellent computer skills, in Word, Excel and Power point with a typing speed of 60 w.p.m.
- Experience in seniors’ housing / care is an asset.
- Organization skills, creativity and high motivation are required.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This industry requires empathy for and an understanding of the needs of seniors and also requires a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check including a Criminal Background Check.
