**SUMMARY**
The Manager, Event Development is focused on developing and leading all internally produced events for LDE. Taking a leadership role in the organization, the manager will oversee all event development aspects for LDE internally produced events, including strategic planning, process implementation and detailed execution. Reporting to the Director, Community Engagement, the Manager, Event Development will focus on revenue generation, growth opportunities and community and industry engagement for all internally produced events (including but not limited to Ag Expo, Lethbridge Farmers’ Market, Whoop-Up Days, Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo etc.).
**KEY WORK ACTIVITIES**
- Manage all LDE internally produced event development and execution logistics, including but not limited to site design, production scheduling, contract management, licensing, booking, and permitting.
- Manage all third-party contractors and contracts related to development, programming and production of all internally produced events.
- Develop, manage and complete multiple project plans and/or internally produced events and programs concurrently.
- Create and update detailed critical paths that will be shared with various stakeholders and serve as a key communication and production tool.
- Maintain financial tracking for each event and operate within the allocated budget, communicating variances, adjusting strategies, budgets and priorities as required.
- Manage and comply with event safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
- Lead post-event wrap ups and reporting, recommending strategic changes that will support an increase in net revenue for the organization.
- Compile and analyze all data associated with each event for reporting and growth purposes.
- Lead and deliver all supporting events that may occur throughout the year.
- Manage and support all primary event contractors to ensure all aspects of their roles are fulfilled and they are working cohesively with the internal team.
- Create and implement acquisition and retention strategies to recruit new event participants, guests and partners.
- Work closely with the Manager, Partnerships to identify partnership and activation needs for each event; ensure all event partnership deliverables are completed.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with key vendors, exhibitors, guests, partners and stakeholders.
- Collaboratively work with all internal teams to meet overall event targets and goals.
- Manage relationships with third-party groups and contractors to fulfill event objectives.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of all event planning meetings, agendas, and minutes.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications to develop and execute tactics that drive event participation, engagement and growth; including the development of assets.
**WORKING ENVIRONMENT**
- Evening and weekend work will be required to execute LDE internally produced events.
- Ability to be physically mobile for extended periods of time, including the freedom of movement, walking, and standing is required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, venue management, events, and/or equivalent education and experience.
- 3+ Years experience managing events and/or equivalent experience.
- Proven knowledge in developing and executing events or equivalent knowledge.
- Proven ability to plan and manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and direct reports.
- Demonstrated results in developing and delivering the strategic planning and implementation of small and large events.
- Working knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety, and legislative guidelines.
- Experience in hospitality, sporting, events and entertainment industries is preferred.

- Knowledge of event and entertainment industry.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- High level of ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency for managing multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.
- Time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency required including advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, databases and general digital skills.
- Responsible, accountable and solutions focused.
