**POSITION: Casual Event Staff**
The Casual Event Staff reports to the Rental Event Coordinator or the Programming Coordinator. The position is a dynamic position that includes all activities of SAEA including building operations and event support.
The position participates in setting up and/or working events, but most importantly provides professional customer service to ensure the clients have a memorable experience.
**DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES**
▪ **Meet/Greet & Assist** clients when needed during rental events, providing professional & excellent customer service
▪ Setting up/tearing down SAEA Events or client rental events e.g., tables, chairs, staging & décor
▪ Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and stand on your feet for long periods of time
▪ Provide good communication and be able to follow direction
▪ Ensure facility cleanliness during events, checking washrooms, changing out garbage
▪ Familiarize yourself with rental information
▪ Review all rental and event information provided by coordinators for set up and event details
▪ Document any applicable information such as items to be charged out or incidents in the communication book so the coordinator is advised
▪ Ensure all client rental rules are being followed
▪ Ensure AB Health, Fire Department and AGLC rules are being followed
▪ Ensure end of event duties are followed
▪ Any other related duties and responsibilities as required.
**SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS**
- Reporting skills (both oral and writing)
- Professional and provide good customer service
- Empathy, kindness and positive regard for others
- Knowledge of standards of confidentiality
- Knowledge of OHS, and other government employment regulations
- Dress appropriately for a workplace with frequent client/customer service interaction
- Trusting working relationship with colleagues especially with the coordinators, ED, volunteers, and board members
- Act with integrity, courtesy, responsibility
- Commitment to the mission and purpose of SAEA
- Proserve Training is required

**PERFORMANCE CRITERIA**
The performance criteria include competency factors related to the tasks, duties, and skills set out in the job description and any other special assignments. Work output will be measured in outcomes and positive results, NOT hours spent.

Pay rate is $17.00 per hour.
